With the features and styling of a flagship phone but for half the cost, the Huawei P Smart is great if you’re on a budget. It’s simple to use, and has impressive battery life and a good camera.

GHI Expert Verdict

It’s very straightforward to use, with the battery life and handy features on the camera really making this phone shine. Even better, it's got a facial unlock function. Admittedly, the speed and styling can't quite compete with the flagships smartphones but considering the price, we think it's great value for money.

    We Liked

    • The camera offers an AI mode that automatically recognises items in your photos and alters them accordingly
    • You can take pictures with the subject in focus and the background blurred just like on a professional camera, you can even adjust how blurred the background appears
    • Simple and straightforward
    • It's quick to recharge too

      We Didn't Like

      • The facial recognition doesn't work on secure apps like banking apps
      • The screen suffers from glare in bright light and fingerprint marks
